A continuing series on, which extension is best

Welcome back! If you haven't read my first entry introducing extensions, take a quick look at "Which extension is best for my hair?" then come back.

Today I'll be talking about my second favorite extension, the k-tip! Also known as the keratin tip. If you've been told in the past "your hair is too thin or fine and see through for extensions” it's your day! This type of extension could finally be what you're looking for!

The name for this extension for once is not miss leading. This extension is attached to the hair using the keratin on the tip on the extension. These extensions have a bit of a different appearance, they are not your typical weft which you might be more familiar with. The k-tips are small individual pieces of hair held together by the keratin on the tip. These keratin tips are then discretely attached to the hair using hot fusion. You can put anywhere from 25g of hair to 125g of hair to achieve the desired result.

Now you might be wondering what maintenance looks like? “Do they get moved up like a weft?” the answer is simple, “No!” Keratin tips last ranging from six to eight weeks, then you do a full removal. The keratin tip is not reusable, so it's out with the old and in with the new.

The question I get a lot is “doesn't that cost a lot?” Again “No.” The keratin tip is very affordable compared to the cost of wefts. Although; If i have a client who has decently thick hair and is looking to achieve length, i would not use the keratin tip. To get enough density to match the length of their natural hair it would no longer be cost effective, in that case it would be more efficient to go the route of a weft. The keratin tip is a more ideal extension for anyone with fine hair, as well as saves on the overall cost.

After working with this extension for more than a year now I've seen it transform many heads of hair, giving many women their confidence back. As well as making the hair overall easier to style, get ready, and go out. It completes the look! What gets better than that?
